There is just under two weeks to go to the closing date (14 Aug 2004) for the Herts Open to be held at the Herts Sports Village, Hatfield on 4 and 5 September 2004.

Entry forms are available on www.baofe.co.uk and www.hertsbadminton.net. I can also be contacted via this site.

Please make sure that you enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your entry so that I can send you details of your start time. No envelope - no details!

good to see people trying to get tournament numbers up. this sort of thing should be on all the badminton sites. good luck with the tournament bg

Response to the Herts Open has been fantastic! Thank you to all those who entered.

For all those who sent a stamped addressed envelope, notification of start times have been sent out either on 25 or 26 Aug 04. Hopefully if the Royal Mail does its job, you should hear by the weekend!

To those 50 or so entrants who did not send an envelope, please contact me for your start time.

Thank you again for supporting the Herts Open.

Just a brief summary of today's results at the Herts Open.

Mens's Singles

Final: Rajiv Ouseph beat Matt Hanson 13-15, 156, 15-7

Semi: Rajiv Ouseph beat Carl Baxter 15-7, 15-9
Matt Hanson beat Neil White 15-10, 8-15, 15-9

Women's Singles

Final: Rachel Howard beat Caroline Smith 113, 11-5

Semi: Rachel Howasrd beat Rayoni Head 11-6, 11-0
Caroline Smith beat Reshmi Ouseph 11-7, 11-8

Thank you to everyone who entered the tournament and to all those who helped to run the tournament.

The tournament consisted of 64 Men's Singles, 24 Women's Singles, 42 Men's Doubles, 22 Women's Doubles and 30 Mixed Pairs.

Great article Paul, would be great to see some others come forward and volunteer to write a few words about other tournaments as well.
