Just think that we should pass out best wishes onto the England squad for this coming Olympics. No doubt they have been going through some tough training and fingers crossed their efforts will pay off. Particpating in the Olympics is no mean feat, so lets get behind the lads and ladies.
Good luck guys.

Why is saying the 'England Squad' so ignorant?
Michael Banks

Because it is Team GB - England is only part of the team.

What an ignorant lot!!
We should be supporting all the players including the Welsh players. They are representing Great Britain and we should all cheer for them. Each player has got there on merit so don't do the usual and knock us down.
And to the previous resondent - no, Simon is not playing as he unfortunately didn't qualify
best of luck guys and gals ;)

For me the best British player is Nathan Robertson. If anyone has a chance to watch him play then I am sure you will be impressed :) I was.
Hopefully he will do well in the Olympics, but there must be considerable pressure on him to replicate his European triumph with 'Gutsy' Gail Emms.
Gail may not seem as talented but she does give 100%.
Good luck to the both of them .... and the British team.
and hopefully we will have the opportunity to see them play in the Elite circuit in the coming season.

PS: I am fairly sure that past comments re England, Scotland, Britain in this thread are said in gest and folks are supporting the team come what may

I think you're right Frodo lad, it shouldn't really matter if the are from any home country we should get behind them for the good of the game.
I think the mixed is our best chance, so come on Gail and Nathan!

Yeah I agree Phil, com sa England.
Nathan is your best chance but I still think he needs to play with a Dane to have any chance of winning.

Might not be allowed in the olympics Jan, but don't take anything away from Gail.

Just spoke to Rexy by phone, who is currently in Cyprus with Team GB (lets get that right!) at the holding base getting acclimatised for the heat of Athens. Wished him and the rest of our Badminton team the very best of British for the Olympics starting on Saturday. They were all having their evening meal as it was 6.40pm there. They are all in good spirits and eagerly awaiting the start of the competition.
Just wished I was able to go to Athens! Sigh!!!
