Hampshire Veterans Stalwalt

My spelling may be a bit wayward, and my typing is getting slower with age, but the subject of this forum is not slowing down, but has decided to give the reins to somebody else. I would like to know peoples reactions and comments about putting this fellows name forward to the powers that be, for something special, or anything at all to recognise his pioneering and stirling work for badminton, and especially the veterans over many years. The man I am talking about is Ken Milne.I dont want to tread on anybodies toes, but if nothing is done then he will stand down and blend into the background like so many in the past.

I agree Horace,Ken has done so much for the vets that we should do something for him in return.

Surely Hampshire County can nominate Ken for the English Badminton Award. This is presented by the BAofE for exceptional services to English Badminton. If Ken doesn't deserve this then nobody does. If it wasn't for him there would not be the veterans scene that we have now!

Ken used to coach me when I was about 12 (scarely nearly 18 years ago now). His commitment and enthusiasm towards Hampshire Badminton (and not just the vets) are definitely worth the highest recognition.

Do you know of the best person to approach about getting a nomination to the BAofE?

i think Horace was going to contact the BAofE, but there is no-one obvious to contact...Darren Parks maybe?
