They say "THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT" - I agree

They say "THE FUTURE'S ORANGE" - It may well be

But the future is most definately "PURPLE"!

If you are lucky enough to be part of a successful club as indeed i am, i would hope that one could be forgiven for for seeming to have a grin from ear to ear, just like the preverbial Cheshire cat!

Success can be measured in many varied ways. It is not about how well you perform in league matches, it is how well you perform as a club, both on and off the court.

I believe Wallasey St. James has the right approach, the right thinking, the right TEAM for success.

I also believe that to be successful on court, you need to be successful off court.

The success of our club this past season has never been greater, we boast 3 teams - (1 in the Wallasey league, and 2 in the Birkenhead league). Some 30 players have taken part in these teams of which i'm delighted to report that:

The Wallasey team comprising of 6 juniors out of the team of 8 finished 1st division champions.

The same Wallasey team are in the final of the cup competition "Vera Johnson Trophy".

The Birkenhead 2nd team finished winners of their respective division 3, having gained promotion from the 4th division the previous season.

The Birkenhead 1st team finished league champions of the 1st division.

The same Birkenhead team won the cup competition "Birkenhead Advertiser Trophy"

What a "purple" patch, what a "purple" year!

What a TEAM!!

Well done to everyone - on and off the court!

I am a very proud club chairman.

Sounds like Wallasey Saint James have the 'secret of success'.

You said being successful on court is a direct lead from successes off court. Can you add more detail? Are you talking about attitudes, social side etc or packed club nights?

Phil,

Thought i recognised your name... my Dad was given your name and number some time this year regarding playing in the Baxter trophy.

Small world isn't it?

Did you not play for Claremount?

If you email me directly then i will be more than happy to reply with the phone number of Neil Cooper about our club.

Can't guarantee a place but if not then Neil would be more than happy to recommend a club.

We had our end of season dinner last night - great do!

Neil - I was very impressed by the way you negotiated the extra duck.

Colette is now taking orders for flanelette chicken which can be either oven ready or prepared in front of your eyes. Just let her know if you want facecloth (her most popular line), hand towel or bath towel size. Unfortunately the bath sheet version is only available at Christmas and Easter.

If anybody wants prawn it can be delivered by air mail.

Yes - in fairness, if your name began with a kicking K then you are probably implicated.

Another problem I have is that Colette has obviously figured out my password - she can read me like a book!

By the way Janet - I hope your feet have now regained their shape.

This is a good thread, unfortunately I think it's in the wrong place. I can either move it to the Wallasey Saint James club forum, or lock it now and then somebody could start up a new thread?

Let me know what you all think. Hope you understand, but this really isn't interesting to everybody!!

I think this is a good thread! Im very interested in what alex and john have to say its a real shame that site support doesnt feel the same!!
Its a shame badminton has to be so boaring have we all forgotten about the word "laugh"

I agree with site support. This should be sent to their own club threads, just like my club Arches have.

If Ann Summers or anyone else would like to ''listen in'' on the commentary, you can always become registered as a member of that clubs forum. Or if this is strictly not allowed maybe site support could allow people to have 'guest' status for other club's forums.

I feel this club should stay here and people should be made to read it as it is a very good club and has had a very successful season should they be congratulated as they have worked hadr to get there results!

Im sure reading the site support Alex and John will stop this immature behavour and let Wallasey Saint James continue here!!
SEAN DONT BE BITTER just because your club got taken off doesnt mean this one does!

The club doesn't get taken off. When you register with Badders.com you have the option to register with your club. This gives you your own club forum, and your club administrator can add news and match reports for your club.

If every club started posting about their own club in the forum, and we have over 2000 clubs just in the UK in our database, then I hope you'll agree that this forum will soon get crowded and unreadable.

That's why you have your own club forum, so people from your own club can talk to other people from your own club.

Nobody's club is being 'taken off' the site.

Yes, a slight misunderstanding ! My club, Arches, has it's own club forum and I think this should be the way forward for all clubs.

Also I might add, the clubs can also be linked to a specific County or district forum, allowing clubs within these areas to discuss/advertise/gloat about different things.

Sean...

You could just not read the thread!!

Muppet!

Site Support
26th April 2002, 13:04
Actually, Sean could read the thread - the misunderstanding wasn't made by him. Calling him a muppet isn't really getting anybody anywhere, especially when it's clearly not Sean who is the 'muppet'.

Nobody is being confrontational here, we just want the forums to be clean and easy to read for everyone.

Alex

I was simply saying that he doesnt have to read the thread, why bother coming in and saying this thread needs removing when in actual fact he doesnt at all need to visit this thread at all!

A lot of the people that have been attracted to this site lately are from the Merseyside area due to the Junior Merseyside issue and may be interested to hear this without registering themselves with the club because THEY DONT PLAY FOR THE CLUB!!!!

Sean to you i say "DONT VISIT THE THREAD, DO YOU NEED TO???"

Site Support
26th April 2002, 14:35
This thread has nothing to do with the Merseyside/Greater Manchester issue. It has zero interest to people not involved in the club and that's why it belongs in the club forum.

The Merseyside/Greater Manchester issue you are talking about have attracted great interest from those not involved. They belong in the main forum for everyone to read.

Sean doesn't need to read this thread, neither does anybody who is not interested. That's why I am going to lock it. If you want to talk about your own club, then please do it in your own forum.
