Alison Fulton without a doubt. Coz shes played at the highest level against the top players and even beaten them, so shes got plenty of experience. Alison Fulton

The world renown Cockburn Centre, Monday nights 7.30-10.30, courts 2, 5 & 6.

The masses congregate around the top two courts and we take an additional one to cope.

Mr. James Elkin of Yeovil Area, Somerset, UK.

mr elkin taught my son last summer(2004) for 4 sessions.

My son's PRC coach's comments(in 3 years' time, that's the first time i heard him praise of some other coach):

1 mr elkin is able to spot and improve my son's weakest skill(front court footwork) to become a strength in spite of a short time frame
2 mr elkin must be a very responsible coach with passion to improve student: within a 4-sessions, one-on-two training program and given the background of an English learning camp that most "coach" would pick the easy route of just practicing lot of drills, footwork etc. instead, Mr. Elkin picked a more difficult route to go in trying to improve the weakest skill of my son.

My son's comments:
1 me. elkin is very good and is having teaching skill that is even better than his Hong Kong Rep Team member coach (ok my son has two coaches, one from PRC and one from HK)
2 mr. elkin is "non-calculative in time". when training time was over in each session, mr. elkin still played with them untill the next activities
3 i should make a long distance call from hk to make sure mr. elkin will teach him this summer :)

I have very high opinions of Dennis Wright from around this area, coached me for a while, due to other commitments i havent been able to carry on with it, but improved my game immeasurably.

Then theres me, dont do much coaching myself any more for the same reason, i was crap anyway! :p

Where to start, Tom (Video Cam) Courtney, Alan (Smoooth)McIlvain, Iain (Bacon Sannie) Pringle, Alan (Four!)Thomson, Russell (The Quite Man) Hogg, Karen (Chatterbox) Stalker, Julie (Chatterbox2) Hogg, Craig (Gentleman) Robertson, Phil (Wind-them-up) McBride...................the list goes on and on.
We're lucky that young players have the choice to pick and learn from coaches who have thier own little specialities, as well as, all round knowledge. It was not so long ago, that coaches had 'thier' players, thankfully (I hope) we've moved on from there and our future internationalists are smarter than the average bears.
Come to think about it, may be the parents have cracked onto those coaches who really believe in thier kids.
The main things is to keep having fun or pick-up yur racquet and............(you can work out the rest!).

:D
Grasshopper, I think one should be posting more articulate writings on the subject of work, to guide those coaches presently without desciples to nurture them in the art of BAHDD-MEEN-TOAHN.
I believe you are in the process of gaining the knowledge to elevate to the next level of enlightenment.
Be careful Grasshopper, the road to enlighment and and (s**t that stutter again) knowledge is a weiry and lonely one. (In particular when you're trying to add some humour and then some prat tells you the postings are full of pish).
Sorry, I digress, I have heard it told that there is a temple in the South, where many gather to share thier learning and partake in wizardry of the body. This road could be of benefit to a young pupil as yourself, seek the guidance from the one they call......Scotrail or FirstBus. they know the road to this temple well.

In other words ur ye goin tae the championships next week?
