It happens that I like to collect a lot of this:

1 Swatch: around 400+, many of them are special items. The most expensive one that I have is "Sam Francis" at 300 pound.

2 Hifi tubes: KT88, KT66, ECC81, ECC83, 6DJ8. The most expensive one is "Telefunken 803s" at 300 pound per piece: this one is very rare, you might not be able to find it even if you have money on hand.

3 Toys around 20 big boxes:
i) Thunderbird TB2, many diff versions
ii) matchbox cars
iii) japanese Ultraman Monsters: Bullmark, Marusan: the most expensive one is "1966 Pigmon" worth around 1000 pound.
(I need to blame my father for getting me into collecting antique toys: he threw away all my toys when I was young so I wanted to get them back and overdo to compensate (Sigmund Freud)

My son doesn't let me put my toys in his room even though I reminded him that I paid for the apartment. I admit that it makes me happy when I spend the money in buying. Taking care of them is some other things.

Do you have any "collector syndrome"? What do you like to collect?

I collect empty beer bottles. Not full ones, that would be just wasteful.

Hmm...I collect a few things. I used to collect baseball cards when I was younger, and then I got into stamps. But, I quickly got disinterested in both of those. Then, I collected glass soft-drink bottles (i.e. Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Mr. Pibb,...) But, of course Mom didn't like those sitting around, so I threw 'em all out.

Now, on to my 'serious' collections. I collect knives!! I hope it's ok to say that here. I started a thread about my knife collection on another thread and it was deleted. Anyhoo, I'm not really 'activiley' collecting knives. I have about 12 or so, about 6 or 7 of which are worth anything.

I'm going to see if I can attach some pictures I took of my knives last time I took 'em out and cleaned 'em up.

1 Mom didn't like and u throw the bottles away!! Man, when u get older may be u want to get the exact bottles back! they will be extincted and very expensive.
2 What? they deleted the knives thread here(or in other forum) . although it sounds a bit totalitarian, may be they r afraid of the impact to the minor.
3 btw, do your knieves include "weapon" that one uses in ancient war. i love watching the UK's, the Japanese and the Chinese swords. they are so beautiful that everytime i went to Museum, i spent lot of time in the sword sesson.
4 do u have collection on chinese knives, china has a long history so have a lot of diff "weapon" very interesting
5 when u put pics here, u might need to reduce the "memory" of the photos before putting such that you can up load(ask site-support about support). i really would like to see your collection.

I don't have time tonight, but I'll search for links to pictures to my knives. I really don't think I can shrink the size of the photos that much, and even if I could, the pictures would then be worthless. So, I'm going to try to find some links.

To answer your question, no. I don't have any Chinese knives. Hope you're not disappointed too much!

1 i think reducing the resolution of (ie quality) of pic will help uploading. take your time for learning to load. hehehe, it's a life-long career. :D

2 so what kind of "knives" that u r collecting, does it include the "swiss style"? was told that the swiss one r more pragmetic.

I hope eveyone(except me) would upload some of their collections here!!!

Just returned from Japan. this time only added one more Japanese Monster to my collection. the name of the monster is called Kanegon. it's a handmade model. hehehe :D :D :D , i bought that for my wife's birthday present(that's the only Japan Monster that she loves very much). now she displaces the model in our bedroom, hehehe :D :D :D ....one stone kills 2 birds....

i also showed my son around with all those very expensive Japanese Monster(one of them is asking for one million Yen!!!!) making sure that he won't throw my collection away after i die...

the first name that you should try to reserve is your own real name. than in your business card, it will say xxxxxxxx@gmail.com.(although your company might give u an email account, the account will be stopped when you get a new job so it's good to have a personal name account such that you still keep contacts with old customers)

the second one is for your girl friend.

i have reserved 2 names, one for my real name and the other for my wife. my wife was so happy. i can't get the third when all the invitations were used up.

actually i had read your post very carefully. sorry to have made my answers "off-topic"... i don't mean to ruin your question...it's just that we value "practical" "love" and "romantic" more than "cool". when talking about love, i want to "collect" a gmail account for my son but i'm still awaiting a new invitatiion from gmail.

it's difficult to think about "cool" names for collecting as i always think about the "practical", "romantic", or "love" unfront. but i think it's cool to be able to get the "real name" of myself, my wife and my son on gmail, yahoo or hotmail such that the business card will have same name or when ppl ask about our email address, i can tell them it's "redkingjoe@yahoo.com" and don't need to tell something them like xxx_yyy7819@yahoo.com

hehehe :D :D :D finally i can think of one cool name, one cooler name and one coolest name that i gurantee the names are cool, cooler or coolest and they r:

cool@gmail.com
cooler@gmail.com
coolest@gmail.com

do you guys have any sugestion for collection?

NotBornYesterday
1st March 2005, 02:20
of course i'm not talking about email names that you'd print out in a business card.

redking, 'romantic' names are outdated already these days. names like forever_janes@xxxmail.com and i_luv_janey@xxxmail.com don't work anymore.

something along the lines of "meanpeoplesuck", yours truly ie "notbornyesterday" etc. if i could go on, i wouldn't need your assistance now would i?

you really tear up those that you think crapy!!!! got to look farther than that...just think about Mozart, Bach, Van Goh...an used tissue paper from them might cost ppl a million to buy, let alone any of their art pieces which might have been classified as "crapy art" from their eyes

(btw, please upload some of your arts or colloection)
