I have purchased some Rasmussen tours and have been playing with one of them for a week, I also bought a Powerblade tour with the new carlton Iso head,

As an out and out Carlton fan, I can't believe how good the ras tour is, it has loads and loads of power and the control is outstanding, when defending tonight it just felt noticibly easier to change from forehand to backhand, it's hard to explain but it just has fantastic feel, although when you simply just pick the racket up it does not feel that different but when you start playing with it you WILL find a difference.............

I think at £150 from newitts and £130 from othr retailers it is a bit expensive so if anyone is interested in purchasing one or two please contact me and you could own one with at least 33% off the RRP

You were playing on a Friday night? Madness!

As a former Carlton fan from the era of the TT flex, 85g etc. Carlton have not made a decent racket up till the AS1 which as you know I did like but it was a touch too heavy and far too stiff.

The whole thing with the breakaway from Carlton would be the heavy promotion since the dominance of Carlton in the mid nineties, ask Tommy or Iain, both of whom were reps at the time and are still about.

I last played in 94 when Carlton was at the top, Wilson SBR was the best court trainer and Prince made a shuttle with removable feathers, due to drink drugs and whoremongery I stopped and lived a little bit before returning to the sport about 3 years ago after a very bad car crash which left me unable to walk so it was the right time to get some motivation. Carlton had all but dissapeared, I bought every airblade I could get and all of thier rackets were mediocre at best but all were either too heavy, too stiff or both.

Carlton have now breached the divide as far as iso's go, Iso heads are more forgiving and suit the majority better since they get that safety margin when where an oval would just make you look silly.

I would buy Carlton over any other brand if they produced a racket that I could play with, I might start testing again because after that I play better with an oval racket compared to an isometric one

I will let you try my powerblade and rasmussen tour on monday night if you like, as this may be your only chance to test one as the shop upstairs has no interest in stocking the new Carltons

6 weeks on from the last post how are the Ras Tour and Powerblade Tour performing. Are you still as pleased with the Ras and how does the Iso Powerblade compare ?
