In our club (Humlebæk Badmintonklub) in Denmark we finally got our own web-site (http://www.humlebaekbadminton.dk/). Its isn't finished yet, and I am still looking for inspiration and good ideas worldwide. Could any of you recommend an english clubs homepage?

a warm welcome to badders.com. your participation had indeed makes this site more international and we have more "cultural exchange".
i visited humlebaekbadminton.dk. it looks interesting to me. yet i only know chinese and english...any chance to implement an english or chinese converstion software? as you might have known that a lot of badder fans are asian who use english...to make your site more global...please work on the english thingy....give us an update.
in the meanwhile, please ask your friends or other people who are involed in the site-building to come and chat here.
Could any of you recommend an english clubs homepage?
our best Site-Suport(bSS): do you think you could help him?
Thorberg: may be you should PM bSS.

Hello redkingjoe!
Thanks for your reply. It would be great fun to have an english or even chinese version of our web-site. But Humlebæk is just a small danish club, som we have to take things step by step. I am afraid I am the only site-builder in the club! But sure - I will consider an english or chinese converstion software, when we have a proper site running in danish. First of all I have to make a site for our clubs members.
Best regards
Michael

Wow, you are a site-builder!!! i think it is pretty safe to assump that Peter Thorberg, the smart guy in that site, has some personal relationship with your goodself.
the initial outlook of the site is really good. am i right in saying that you have got sponsorship from RSL? how long it takes to finalize the site? could you put more Camilla's photo there? please ask around the possibilities of installing a translation software(so that even we can't put in any posts, we can read whatever written there)? it will be very interesting to know more about the Danish badminton community.
good luck.

Red - conversion software or translation software costs a lot of money for one that actually converts the text and not just generalises one word from one language to another, these take the words literally (one at a time) so they are each directly translated into single meanings which often do not even resemble the original block of text.
If you want to translate you can visit babelfish but it is basic and full blown software might just cost too much for a small club.

Well the father is a good guess. But also driver, planner and sponsor. But I dont coach (any longer) and I refuse to carry their bags. As yes Phil, they do pretty good in Denmark right now. The articles are about the danish championships in U15 (Peter) and U17 (Maria). Peter won mens single and double, Maria won girls double and came third in mixed.
But this is not about my kids - but about good ideas making homesites for badmintonclubs. I still havn't got one recommandation for an english or scottish site to give me some inspiration.

hohoho, you are a super good father...you have got A++++++++.....sounds to me that you have invested a great deal of your "youth", "time" and "money" in bringing out their success like this:

you must be very proud of the kids...i don't mind carrying the bags if my kid can do so well...and the achievements they have should be shared equally with u....i hope they will appreciate your sacrification for them.
But this is not about my kids - but about good ideas making homesites for badmintonclubs. I still havn't got one recommandation for an english or scottish site to give me some inspiration.
1 i suspect that the main reason for not getting good ideas so far is that: ppls want you to talk more about your kids, hehehe. seems to me that they are successors to PG and CM.
2 OK, since you and your kids are so successful, to capitalize your experience in cultivating badminton stars, i strongly urge you to share with us here your successful way in shoot up two stars in the sky...say putting out threads/articles about your secret of training, various skills, strategy, tactics, schedules, complemetary exercises, coaching, badminton psychology, time management, comments errors, home work, interview with peter and maria etc.....one article/thread per month following with Q and A will be really nice...it's not only a contribution to the badminton community but this also promote the communication of the Danes' badminton culture with the outside world
3 please send a PM to SS and see if he has any recommendation on the web site thingy.
Best regards Michael
it's my pleasure knowing you and your famous kids.

... you are too kind. But I am not here to discuss my kids. I am sure they will hate it too. Not to be unkind or something, but it just isn't my purpose being in this forum.

I'm working on the site just now and hope to have it fully functional with online booking (both for courts and for Scottish coaches) within the next week or so. I've also installed an SMF forum and asked the moderator to keep it updated.
The navmenus are loading the same content in the main frame simply because I've yet to install online booking software and do the subpages. An idea I'm considering is to have a page listing Scottish coaches, a short description of their coaching experience, and a form allowing visitors to book prospective coaching sessions with them using an email to SMS service (or if it's agreeable to the coaches, an online schedule of their availability and a booking form for visitors).

dear Michael,
i totally respect your view...well...badders mostly like to play badminton and hear from the professional or experts on the ways to success...and if your kids do not want to be talked about, may be we/you should talk about you, hehehe :D :how to raise successful badminton stars?
(by the way1, am i right to say that you are a journalist)
(by the way2, hope that you had PM SS and SS had PM you)

Dear Red.
I dont see myself as "raising succesful badminton stars". I have two kids, they are both very devoted to the sport, and as long as they are so devoted, I see it as my duty to support them as much as I can. If they instead devoted themself to play the violin - I instead had to as a father - to support them in that! There are no secret formular - I think we just built on an old tradition and put a lot of efforts in developping good juniorplayer on all levels: national, regional, club-level and all the supporting parents driving miles after miles using all weekends in most of the season to teammatches and individual tournaments. And very important, danish players get used to from a very early age to play many tournaments with many skilled players. Apart from that: Read Martin Dew-Hattens article on the differences betweeen english and danish badminton. He has a lot of good points.
And by the way, yes I am journalist, why?
And by the way i dont understand this "(by the way2, hope that you had PM SS and SS had PM you)" - guess I am too old. :o
Best regards

dear michael,
thank you for your sharing of your experiences on the raising of your professional kids...very inspirational...many of the parents that i know of view supporting the kids as burden!!!!! one of the rich mom(who uses Gucci, Fendi, Prada ..) wasn't willing to pay 15pounds per week for training her daughter in badminton even though the daughter really really wants to learn
Apart from that: Read Martin Dew-Hattens article on the differences betweeen english and danish badminton. He has a lot of good points.
i've read Martin's article. it's very informational and that's the reason i would encourage you to post your experience here so that we have a second opinion on one hand and on the other hand you have two successful stars now.
And by the way, yes I am journalist, why?
since u r a journalist, u will be able to post in a more "objective" and "neutral way" besides the second opinion.
And by the way i dont understand this "(by the way2, hope that you had PM SS and SS had PM you)" - guess I am too old. :o
oh sorry, hohoho, it took me a lot of time to learn the txt thingy it should read by the way(no.2), i hope that you had sent private message to site-support and site-support had return a private message to you. (still remember the previous posts that talked about PM SS to ask him whether he has resources to help on the website thingy)
(btw2, hope dat u had PM SS and SS had PM u)

hi penguin,
was it the decision of the SBU to close the forum of (www.cockburncentre.com)? i remembered there were lot of good and heated discussions over there!!!!
after these discussions on SBU's decisions:(http://www.badders.com/forum/showthread.html?t=1616&page=8&pp=10), i think there'll be doubt over the weight of their decisions: what's the rationale of closing? was it correct to close the forum?
best regards
