Cut from The Independent - Online edition

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inexplicably, given the coverage they had extended to this telegenic couple last summer, the BBC was not at the National Indoor Arena to capture the euphoria of an occasion witnessed by just under 5,000 Union Jack-waving supporters. The Beeb will broadcast the fashioned-for-TV English Masters on 1 April - but its absence here cast it in the role of fool.

An interesting and scathing attack on the beeb for not covering the AE, but I wonder, how many coloumn inches (or pixels for the online ed) The Independent allows badminton on average............

glass houses anyone?

Things are improving with the press, but it will take a lot more success for the Brits and maybe a bit of controversy to take it further and develop what has started.
