Hi, I'm 34 and I've been playing badminton regularly since September for the first time. I've enjoyed it but travelling to Manningtree to play is too far so would like to find somewhere local.

I am not bothered about playing serious matches and it would be nice to find a club that takes beginners so my wife could learn.

I can hit it fairly hard and my tactics and control are improving. I am not very agile though as I have crap knees from a road accident. I went to Highwoods a couple of years ago and found the standard fairly high although I wasn't completely out of my depth in doubles. The watched the Manningtree lot on a Wednesday night and I don't think I would struggle with the standard there.

I just want to turn up and enjoy playing, preferably on Wednesday cos the teles crap. Can anyone recommend a nice, friendly club?

Thanks,
Steve

it sounds serious but i think there's no much to lose for trying...may be they have some that's not as serious or they may introduce you to some others that they know

or PM jonsaunders to see if he knows:

Hi

Does anyone coach in Colchester or know of anyone who does? I don't seem to be having much luck in finding one.
