From the Badminton England site
BADMINTON England is eager to embrace an ever-changing, technological world and, to that end, the pace of life will be reflected in the Association’s day-to-day activities and through an exciting new-look, user-friendly web site due to be launched on April 3 www.badmintonengland.co.uk
Strange time to launch a site on a Sunday but I'm looking forward to it all the same.

Unless the deisgn is identical to the previous site then there is no change, hopefully the launch will only be a little late.

I don't dislike it, however, personally i think i prefered the old website. Although, I don't think they have changed much apart from the appearance.

I don't think they will ever link to this site due to some of the comments in the forum.

some interesting points
seems that more people are expressing a liking to it as well judging by the latest figures in the poll
Am slightly miffed tho......our club gas been omitted from the club lists !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As regards a link to Badders.com, perhaps if we all email Badmintonengland and ask for a link it might make them change ther mind.just don't hold your breath

Just checked out the new site! pleased to see they had updated the rankings but only up unitl january 05. surely they could be more upto date considering we are in april. Other than that the site looks ok.

not exactly.
e.g. the rankings
they are now offered in a pdf and you have access to previous months, which I don't think you had before (except in the sense that they were never up to date)
I think the new site is a bit tidier, and less fussy, small improvement.

I think the new site is a bit tidier, and less fussy, small improvement.Yes Neil, you are right, compared with the last design it is a good job (couldn't get worse!!!!) The rankings are good and it is much easier to naviagte and find archived information. I think I was just expecting a little bit more, you know, a bit more interactivity and maybe a shop that actually worked where we could buy things and get them delivered the same week, something a bit more juicey. But perhaps no national association can provide such a site and I am hoping for too much.

new site looks more up to date but most info is the same as previously and there are still not enough pictures & anyone new to the sport would get bored with too much text

That's a bit harsh, it was one of the few remaining places you could get a copy of "physical training for badminton", I think the shop offered good and prompt service!! On the other hand don't try phoning them when the AE is on, they are all volunteering and you have no chance of getting a hold of anyone.

About the rankings a few have been moaning about - junior rankings haven't been redone/reorders yet and they dont tend to until after events such as the nationals and masters, because tournaments basically stop after january more or less apart from a few opens which rarely affect the whole structure. THe new junior rankings may be done after the playing season but more likely round september time me thks.
I hate the rankings anyway they showing nothing really useless your in the top 20, why oh why hav they put all the age groups into ONE its bizarre and ruins it! Surely as everyone is already sorted in colour codes it wouldnt be difficult to change into seperate lists for each group? Of course you get players xroosing age groups but they play U15 and U17 tournaments so the lists would be fine for them also. This is one of the things that pi***d me off about the BAofE and so it seems will annoy me about BadmintonEngland as well
