Robertson/Emms lose Preston final

Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms failed in their bid to win the English Masters after losing to Denmark's Jens Eriksen and Mette Schjoldager in the final.

The Danes were never really in trouble against the Olympic silver medallists as they claimed a 15-12 15-5 win.

The British pair had earlier survived a real scare to defeat Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg 15-13 5-15 15-10.

England's Robert Blair and Natalie Munt lost 7-15 15-6 15-9 by Eriksen and Schjoldager in the other semi-final.

The coverage was very poor again. From the original hour and a half scheduled on ceefax etc, it was cut by 10 mins talking about rugby union recruiting a league star, then another five mintues on forthcoming BBC Sport broadcasts, then 10-15 mins on the rules and concepts of badminton! What we got was an hour of highlights... I know this has been moaned about before but really... its disgusting...
