No one will ever do it, but if you are suggesting it....might I suggest you should have started doing it yourself.

we have an "identity crisis"....even if one puts down one's name like "Meggy Charming", we still don't know whether it is his or her real name

Stop eating and enlighten yourself :p couldn't resist, even though you are not fat!
This has been tried before to no avail. SS did have a nickname amnesty for a while when the new software kicked in but it never caught on.............. and neither did people naming themselves :D

He could always enquire as to who you are as well, just so he could put a face to the name!
Same thing happened at the last Bonanza when about 10 folks from here turned up and we got to see who each other was, well, that and watch some of them trying to play badminton. You know who you are ;)

You do not need to hack anything, you simply create another account with a new name.

Bearing in mind that one person allegedly had over 50 names logged on then I think it is quite possible

Ok, Opinion, I agree with you in principle (apart from the fact that you decided not to set the ball rolling by naming yourself first!) Although I do think that to some extent people have a right to privacy. Not putting your name on an internet forum probably being one of them. I'm sure people who don't put their names on forums have their reasons for it.
I realise that my name isn't written in full on here, but there are some people who know it seeing as I used to use it, plus in another thread Phil McBride gave it away with one of his responses seeing as it was entitled "exactly Mr Glews!!" (Water off a duck's back Phil :( :p ) Not that its a big issue anyway because it is the badminton community and as someone who attempts to play some of the satellite tournaments my name is on a ranking list anyway! That and I used to play for Shropshire which didn't make it too hard to spot me!!! :p

But do you have a shirt with your name on the back in big bold letters like me? :p
I couldn't care less about what people think of my responses (or me to that effect), afterall they are mine and I'm willing to put my name to them. No one on this site knows who I am - well, one person and that's it!
But to give the defense a good case there are some out there who use false names and alias' where there is good reason to because of what they stand to lose. If they are part of the game they stand to be harmed and if they voice an opinion under their real name they stand to be booted out of squads or lose funding etc.
It's sad to see that associations are like this when they fear individual assaults and do not want people to give their opinions and thoughts openly but that is the way of national associations.
A very sad state of affairs, is it any wonder why we see them in the light we do?

How the hell are you guys managing to chat about this topic at great length.
This site has become so tired since the Admiral, Magoo and the monkey have gone.
How can site support justify stopping threads for going off topic when this thread is the same in my opinion.

hmmmmm.that old point about being booted out of squads again.
Does anybody have any actual proof that this has happened. and I mean real proof, not just hearsay that voicing an opinion was the REAL reason they were booted, and not simply using that as an excuse to cover other reasons.
My sources ( God that sounds so pompous) say that it has never happened

Please stop moaning about something. If you want discussion to be more exciting, SAY SOMETHING INTERESTING!!! We're managing to chat at great length because it is a discussion board and we have something to say about it!! If you don't want to get involved other than from a critical point of view, then why bother!! You say power to the people and then you try and then moan about people airing their opinions...which ONE IS IT?!?!?!

Firstly, no I don't!!! Two reasons, one I don't want a sports hall full of people going "Who?!?!?" when they see it. Secondly you can guarantee with a name like mine it'll be misspelt!! Seriously, every time I call some company or other, the conversation goes like this:
"Surname?"
"glews".
"How's the spelt?"
"g-l-e-w-s".
"G-L-U- what was it sorry?!?!"
"Err, g-l-e-w-s!"
The problem is that everyone assumes its spelt GLU something, so I end up having to repeat myself!! Hence them saying GLU!!!
Err, anyway, narcisstic rant over and done with yeah it has been noted that you aren't too bothered about giving an opinion Phil :p !! But thats why we like ya :D

very good point.
based on my limited experience in the forum career, stopping threads are somewhat political....in one of a very strict forum(not this one)i have seen a thread went extremely off-topic and the moderator even participated in it and even put out a sign "off-topic" in such thread but they still went on and on discvussing all these off-topic thingies...but on the other hand...the same moderator(not this forum) stop some other threads for the reasons of going off-topic...
well, let's go back to the topic of the thread...i think it's depends on the identity of the one who's in power

Opinion, obviously you have changed your mind these days regarding the actual identity of who is posting what!!
Are you going to be true to your word based on you starting this thread??
Re one of your comments on the other thread, you must have a hell of a database going back a good few years if you no who has won what over the last 30 years!! Even I cannot remember all the tournaments i won in the distant pass.

It really doesnt matter what people use as a log on, it does somehow matter what they say; that is how they are judged on here.
If you and Opinion want to have a who can piss the highest competition keep it to PM's.

If you know who the individual is who is making the post, then it is sometimes easier to take on board their comments and then make an informed reply!
I have been advised at to opinion's identity now so that should be the end of it. That is unless some people are leading me up the garden path.
