OK Im interested, Since theres a decent following on this board now I was wondering what are all your badminton phrases , up and down the country- would be certainly interesting to hear them! being from yorkshire I'll start you off with a few classics:

OUT?YEAH JUST OUT OF REACH YOU MEAN!’-great when your opponent is cheating with line calls!


TAXIIIII!’-you already know

‘PING!!!’-This is one of the sweetest sayings ever! It is often said with the forefinger raised (and often said an octave higher than ordinary speech!), and is said when you hit the shuttle and hits your opponent (above waist height). It is fantastic!

One that was quite popular with notts at ict was
"booooooooooooom" whenever a smash hit the floor, no matter how hard it was hit

One of my favourites has to be the call of shank (the louder the better) when someone frames it!

Boom ws a ledge phrase!!! thats all we shouted. I wanna find the person i played at leinster cos i hit bout 50 of em. I wanna laff in his face. And before u say it i dont wanna find the guy from glamorgan. Ur fav phrase of ict ws "ha glamorgan will!"

but yeah the avon was a bit crappy, it was one of those games where everythin went wrong, we all played pretty wank, the team was done all crappy and we managed to lose.
N actually will i may well be back next year as my sister will probably be #3 girl next year when shes 13, love our strength in depth....

i think most of out squad know me for divin the whole ict unneccssarily lol. I got a might large burn n 4 cuts from it.

as i only went to the last day of the ict, there was 1 chant that i thought was clearly the best!and that came from the Notts team and was BOOM when a smash hit the floor or went throught the other player. i have never heard this before and i thought it was very funny and so did many other people on the balcony.

i also thort that ws pretty gud. And if n e 1 one else saw that ping on the very last shot in ict for peter mills or arthur that ws funny! did u c it sony ericsson?

yeh i did see it, must have been a great way to end your ict playin days! Peter Mills seemed to be playin very well in that game to and i noticed a taxi effort on match point to! however also a net kill into the net earlier on, unlucky lol

i actually owe millsy a fiver but he 4got to pick it up at senior county on tues. I rekon we played much betta than bucks did and think 6-4 ws a bit harsh 4 us becos it cudda been easily n e otha thing. I did notice a taxi effort from millsy which ws pretty **** infact. Didnt even look at all like it ws gonna work but he got a gud taxi.

i owe him a fiver cos he beat me like 2-1 in a game cos i got pinged by danny adams lol. We ws playin 4 pings against yorkshire. yeh it ws a **** shot 4 millsys standards.

fuk u! lol. I ws a fair distance down and came bak to score a lot of points which meant that we cudda got egged in our last 2 games and still won by 5 points. I must admit it did come from a gud support from the notts bench.

singles specialist?! i only won 2 games of singles in the whole ict! i shudda been playin mixed! i am a fukin pimp on the mixed court! but not 1 game!! nas did play well tho. gid mixed playa also. millsy ws a dissapointment in mixed. Ive seen cadcock and alison beat marcus and lauren. Y cudnt millsy and penny do i dont kno.

daz is wank. tell him that at the last tournie we played i won in doubles and before that i won 12 n 4. u kno we hav kinda got off the topic of phraes but hu cares. Sum 1 is prob gonna make a thread that says y crnt will beat **** ppl but beat gud ppl

will, you couldnt get a taxi with a phone book and a mobile. We lose Vicki due to 8nations n all, would of been nice to have her but might give us a better chance overall, if only we had a decent player that the baofe didnt love *cough* handal *cough*. And we need to practice our new chant,

apparantly not, young mr bonsells is much more of a force to be reckoned with apparantly even after Handal whooped himself some irish and bruce in the mixed at ict with kate a non-international player, tho she did play rather well, but oh well

i did like the boom phrase, thought it was good.thought the warickshire chant/song was crap, but the boom is definately one to use in the future.

unlucky against rob wilf, u started 2 play at the end but too late, if u had played ur game erlier then a victory would of been on the cards but u didnt, must practice that mate.

ict was gd even though i was a spectator this year, i had some pints of beer, cheered on some teams,including notts, and got wasted most days, its all good.

to be honest Wilf, ur not a specialist at singles as u said and certainly not at mixed and alex is better at doubles, so what r u good at? apart from diving on the shuttles and goin miles down in games? o and insulting people on these forums like bonsels which was uncalled for!!!!!

obviously TAXI!! when you do one of those deceptive lifts where you hold it and draw the opponent into the net and...flick it over his head
