I have lost a well thumbed book, probably lent it out and it was never returned. It was written by Judy Hashman called ‘Winning Badminton’, or something like that.
It was all about mind games with opponents. One part covers deliberately fluffing some of her best shots knowing that the person she would meet in the final and her trainer were watching.
If anyone has an unwanted copy I would willingly spare a few coppers to purchase it.

not..."STARTING BADMINTON" by Judy Hashman and C.M.Jones.

A fully illustrated, step-by-step guide, the book provides a comprehensive course of instruction for beginners in badminton, written from the combined experience of the most outstanding badminton player of the 50's and 60's, and the leading writer and expert on depth analysis of performance and technique in sport.

Is that the one Steve?

No Rachel, she wrote at least two books, one for beginners (The one you have mentioned) and one for the typical tournament player looking to improve their all round performance. Judy and Dick very kindly put me up one night after a tournament and I asked her if she still had a copy but alas no. This book, and as I recall many diagram’s were serialised in the Sunday Times just before it was released. It’s out of print now of course.

Hi Steve just a thought to get some of the info, could you not contact the sunday times to see if they have any copies or e-mailable material from the serialisation of the book in their paper. Just a thought, although its not like having a copy of the book.
