don't be too worried!!! i heard that most of the well-managed olympics made good overall profits to the place. just name a few: lot of sponsership from big brand names, souvenir, global broadcasting rights, tickets income, "spending" from the tourists... some beautiful gym or courts will be usable..
my concerns are:
1 do we have enough good ppl to represent UK to play badminton in 2012 for each category?
2 from the current juniors, who will have the highest potential? will Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms still play?...
3 would there be enough resources for cultivating stronger performers?
Most big projects go horribly over budget and often leave stadia/gyms/courts which sit empty after the games itself. I wonder how these will be funded, mmm oh yes......

Stop whining.
You pay taxes for all sorts of crap now - War In Iraq anyone?
A little extra for something totally worthwhile won't hurt you.

Personally i think Gail and robertson will be either commentating or coaching. They still might be able to play since the european players last longer than the asian players on court. The INTENSE Training that Asian players get will definately slow them down..

dear ant(s),
a warm welcome to badders.com
i thought the asian players have shorter career length(particularly the chinese) because china has spent load of resources to cultivate future stars such that even the current top players had occasionally been beaten by the "junior"....to the contrary, the european countries have problems producing successors in the top 100...if the top stars retire, eg who can replace camilla martin on behalf of demark? nevertheless, if lin dan retired now...l

Thanks. That is true.. that was what i was saying. Maybe those who has already slowed down with go to Europe and play instead. The problem with Europeans it really producing successors , Unlike countries in Asia.. they manufacture players hehehe..
