hi,

For some time now the box on the left has been labelled 'coming soon!'. It has been like this for a while now and i was just wondering when these are being added.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the post and the very valid question.

When we launched at the end of January we approached all the major groups and associations involved in badminton, such as the ones mentioned on the site labelled as 'coming soon'.

The idea was to work together to build sub sites for each one. Some of them carrying an official label, others more unofficial. As with most things in badminton the response has been pretty slow :o(

However, on the bright side we are working with the Badminton Umpires Association of England to provide them with an official site, English Schools and IBAD (for disabled badminton).

The biggest show stopper is time. Everyone who works on Badders.com does so voluntarily as we currently have no revenue streams. This means that we cannot bring all the functionality online as quickly as we would like.

You wouldn't believe the ideas we have and how eager we are to put them in place. We have very ambitious plans over the next 12 months which will include all the groups mentioned in the 'coming soon' section.

The good news is that we do not rely on venture capital or other funding (except our own). This means that we work to our own agenda and have no body pressuring us to make money.

Give us a little time and we will have everything up and running, of course if anyone wants to volunteer their services to help us accelerate this...we certainly wouldn't say no!!

JP.

If you find you are struggling with people, i'm here. I have a taste of website designing and have done quite a few sites.
As Alex said i am sure that it will be great when it is done. I have alot of time on my hands soon as my exams have finished so if you need someone else do not hesitate to ask.
If you want, i'll show you sites that i have done.

I have given you some details of our club,The Wheelchair Badminton Club at Macclesfield, Cheshire. But cannot find where this information is. Would also love to see the information on Disabled Badminton up and running.

Lynne,

Currently the club is listed in the club directory, but it doesn't have your website linked to it. If you have a website please send us the URL and we will link it up.

The club directory isn't meant to be a definitive list of all the clubs in a region or country as each national badminton federation carries this information on their website and we don't want to duplicate information that is going to be from a good accurate source.

Towards the end of the year we may consider a definitive club listing but it would need to be in consultation with the national badminton authorities.

With regards to the disabled badminton section, we are pleased to say we recently had contact from IBAD. As I mentioned further down this thread, it has not been easy maintaining a dialogue with many of the badminton authorities. Not only do we need to maintain a dialogue, we rely 100% on editorial contributions by them. More often than not, this is where the process falls down.

Maybe you could help us Lynne by writing an article or two on disabled/wheelchair badminton. This would start the ball rolling and encourage other contributions.
