SOME of Scotland's top badminton players will be taking on the British Police squad on Wednesday (Feb 8) at the Tom Pettigrew Hall in Glasgow's Cockburn Centre, the home of BADMINTONscotland.
Woody, are you involved in this one?

Phil
Unfortunately not as I am in a meeting in London all day.
This is my last week at work before I start my leave and then retire in March.
I will be rooting for the Police side again as usual, I'm not sure how strong our squad is as we have several of our better ladies who have had babies in the last 6 months or are still pregnant.
We have a new man Stuart Holder I think his name is who adds strength but if its the Scottish youngsters who are playing I guess the match will be hard.
I should think Sandra Watt will be looking forward to the match on home soil.

I guess there is a hot seat somewhere but its one in Wales the other in Worcester so they are not far apart.
Anyway I guess the Scots youngsters are going to have an edge anyway they uually do.

Probably has something to do with the amount of training they put in. I'm sure it used to be the Scotland U23 team v's Police away back in the day did it not?

Yes it used to be the under 23's.
The last match I saw 2 years ago was interesting in that it pitted youth against experience and the latter made quite a difference although the younguns still won.

I think that was the year they were trying to showcase the lottery squad and what they had achieved now the high performance squad, a few from that game are sadly gone.
