View Full Version : Badmington courts in central London?

I'm simply looking to play badmington somewhere in the centre of London, preferably around Hyde Park corner.

I am a complete amateur and am not thinking of becoming a pro:), just want to play badmington. I liked it when I was little! difficult to find anything on the net, unless you are prepared to call every single health club in the area to check if they have a court.

Can someone help?

thanks a lot

Dont know if you have found anywhere yet but as far as I know the 2 closest places to HPC are the chelsea sports centre on the kings road and the sports centre next to victoria. This its called the queen elizabeth or queen mothers or something like that.
Hope it helps

Thanks, no I haven't found anything. So if I just called the enquiries line, I should be able to get their numbers?

Hi Katrina.

My colleague and I are also interested in finding courts and playing around the Hyde Park corner end as well so any info would be great.

I have been reading a few of the insults in response to other questions that fly around on this forum. I'm not sure i get it - am i too nieve ? is it not possible to ONLY reply with a relevant, unsarcastic, comment. if you want to p1ss around on the net, join HI5 or one of the other portals that enable you to feel better about yourself.

leave this site for the majority of sensible people that simply, want to embark in dialogue about BADMINTON

Many thanks

from the person who wants a recommendation of courts in the SE13 area.

Dear Cowpat have you tried Ladywell Leisure Centre?

Are you after a club to join or just courts to hire?

Banter has its place, but newcomer's shouldn't have to put up with instantaneous attack. THe miss spelling was forgiveable - if she wants to be a badminger leave her alone.

hello shopat, i play in catford at a very good club in stansted road and another in lower sydenham. it would help if i knew what standard you are? some clubs allow players to go and try them out to decide if they want to regularly play there. to my knowledge, there aren't many places where you can hire courts in lewisham.

i had a look at a web site and it seems that after the refurbishment, there are no longer courts in Lewisham shopping centre or Ladywell leisure centre.

another web site to try is www.kentbadminton.co.uk

good luck

Your joking Tango that club is rubbish as it is near me. You don't want to send anyone down there as they won't come out alive.

billy bothered, i guess that because your post was edited then you couldn't of said anything that was of any real relevance. although you are entitled to your own opinion.

i will let shopat and the others make up their own minds.

Good for you and I do hope you get some courts and play sorted.

There is a lot of pratting around on some of these threads, not all by any means; badminton is fun but more fun if taken seriously.

Still a suppose that some people with nothing better to do like to fool about and be insulting. Sad really don't you think.?

And you numskull.

Have a laugh by all means but don't, just don't knock anyone trying to take uop this sport, We need more players and more clubs.

Elitism if that what it is, doesn't belong here.

Agreed, but replying to a post which is nearly a year old is even sadder

FAIR POINT. No reason not to get things moving again, I suggest. Or if I'm wrong should we get admin to remove those old threads and only keep those visited in the last six months?
