Yes those were good results for Keiran and Jamie, kieran went through against Susan easily but i think Jamie eased off to let Rita take a set judging by the score in the last - she didn't get many off him in the last from what i heard. Anyone got the actual scores?
Does anyone have an opinion on the ladies playing in the gents event?
Must have been good for the remaining ladies having the two top seeds in the country not playing in the draw in their actual event.
Do the laides not spar against the gents in training? What was the point of this if we all know scientifically that there was no chance of the ladies wining the event?
Well done to the SBU for trying to prove Science wrong and setting the cat among the pigeons in a well rounded PR kind of a way again.
Didn't work out i hear you claim, well you can chalk that one up to experience - job at the IBF anyone?

i guess the SBU have high hope for their ladies...by putting the ladies among the men, there will be more opportunities for the ladies to gain experiences playing with tougher opponents in "real" tournament...the watchers might be the victum as a result

Gordon Thomson beat myself 6 and 11 in the final.
Jaclyn Gilliland beat Gillian Sloan in 2 i think.
David Forbes and Stewart Kerr beat Gordon and Greg Anderson 8 and 12 i think.
Helen Blair and Jaclyn won Ladies Doubles in 2.
Colin Hill and Hayley Donnelly beat Mark Mackay and Helen Blair in 2.
I beat Rita 15-11, 8-15, 15-0, and Kieran beat Susan in 2. She said her match with Mark Mackay, which lasted ages took a lot out of her, plus a week's training as well i'd guess.

It was an interesting experiment. Are there any plans for them to do it again?
The focus should be on improving the juniors though so that there are more women to challenge the top two. It must be odd for the guys to have them in the draw and puts the pressure on to beat them. Given that the standard of men's singles in Scotland is quite a bit lower than women's singles - I can't imagine it's great for morale?
