Hi all,
Not to sure if this type of post it allowed - if not, please feel free to edit/delete.
On April 8th 2006 I will be holding the 2006 Sue Noake Mid-Glam Open at the Sobell Centre, Aberdare, S.Wales, the tournament will be run in accordance with the t&c's for the Welsh Senior Series (WSS) of tournaments.
The format is as follows:
Initially - Round robin group stages, with 3/4 in each group - so your guaranteed at least 2/3 games. (1 game to 15 no setting)
The winner and in most cases the runner up of the group stage will progress to the knock out stages, mostly started at the 1/4 final stage (1 game to 15 with setting)
Semi Finals - 1 game to 21 with setting
Final - 3 games to 15 with setting.
The WSS series of tournaments are graded as Level 4, so for the english readers - you should get WSS and BAofE ranking points.
Tournament entry forms can be downloading for either: http://www.midglamopen.co.uk or http://www.richardvaughan.net, with WSS info located at: http://www.welshbadminton.net, at the Mid Glam website, you can even enter ONLINE.
It would be very nice to see some fresh faces at the tournament, and the WSS of tournaments in general, we have a diverse range of players already playing, but its always nice to have new players enter.
I would ideally like the entry forms in by March 25th, entry fees for the tournament are £6.50 for one event, £12 for two events, £16 for 3 events - as I am sure you will agree, you do get value for money.
I am still trying to gain some sponsorship which I can then offer directly as prize money, so if there are any potential sponsors reading this, please get in touch.
If you have any questions/queries - please feel free to drop me a line at: entry@midglamopen.co.uk
Many Thanks, Vaughn.
