Does anyone have a reference to documentation supporting recording of racket impact velocities in the 300+ km/hr region during tournaments. I've heard of figures as high as 330 (>200 mph) recorded using high frame rate cameras but unfortunately I've never managed to locate the documentation.

Thanks, Joe

Joe,

At the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne they had a radar system which covered one of the courts and instantly flashed the speed of the shuttle up on a big screen.

If you e.mail Stuart Borrie who is the Executive Director of Badminton Australia via their web site he may be able to assist with information.
