Can we have some results??
I know that Roe got to the mens dbls final, that's all.
Hell will freeze over before we get a report from Badminton England. Why don't they give
reports/results on a series of tournaments that THEY sanction?:
This always bugged the hell out of me when I was playing satellite events.

Like i say sorry about the rest of the results.
On a side note it was nice to see a pretty decent sandard entry, and some new faces who I dont usully see only travelling around "THE NORTH!!!"
So yeah, all in all a very well run and attended tournament (in my opinion...) and some very good games...

Cambridge is a strange one to be fair though and they only tend to obviously seed number 1 and 2 by placing them at opposite ends of the draw. The other seeds never seem to be completely obvious down there....and I'm still gutted I missed it even though thats probably the strongest draw that's been there for a while!

From what I saw it was a good tournament and the standard was high throughout. The mens doubles was spolied a little by having the two best pairs (probably) playing each other in the second round. Not sure how Chris Roe won it last year but was unseeded this and still won it.

I'd guess that the seeds in the mens singles were Plant, Allinson, Murphy and Cheung. The seeding wasn't too bad - as top seeds won 4 of the five events, but the mens doubles seedings were strange as didn't seem to go by the rankings and the closest game we had was in the last 16. I agree with alansd that the tournament was of higher standard this year with a lot of good games throughout the draws.

What time did everything finish at? I left at about 7 30 and you were just going on for your quarter finals. I was expecting it to be a late one.

It was an early finish - we left at about 9-45, about the same time that I started last year! There weren't too many long games so it went through fairly quickly, although we did our best to try and go to 3 sets in the semis and finals of the doubles.

Were the remaining games all quite straight forward?
I was gutted, lost 21-18 in the third of my mens after being up and we would have gotten a shot at you and Dakin in the quarters. Next time!!

Think the quarters we won 8 and 13. In both the semis and final we won the first set comfortably to about 13 and then in the second went down about 11-4ish in both. We only just scraped by in the semis by winning 21-19 from 19-14 down. In the final we won to 17 in the second set. It's never straightforward in that hall as its really quite nice to defend so the rallies tend to be quite long.

I saw that in the beginning of the quarters the guys tried to play lots of pushes off service past you and they were getting nowhere with that tactic!! Should have just taken there chances with a decent lift to Chris (Dakin) just realised both of youhave the same name
Its been a good couple of weeks for him!

We have deemed Chris Roe to be an octopus at the net!
(And Rupert still couldn't believe on Sunday how far across you reached to break his racket!)
