Well I hope SOMEONE from this site was there, coz you can't expect BE to report on a satellite event sanctioned by themselves.
They don't even report the Challenger results, though you can understand their embarrassment with Knowlesy
beating all those young guns at Wimbledon........
Luncheon,were you playing??

Well I am not going to try and defend the BE but I think people are being unfair to some extent.
1. Darren Parks the Events guru from BE was at the U19 nationals most of the day yesterday and they provided an up to date results service for the web all day Saturday and Sunday.
2. Who from the organisiers of the satellite tournament has supplied the results to BE this morning? I pose the question not ask it.
3. BE do not work 24/7 so even if they have been provided either overnight or this morning they have to be checked before they are added to any web site.
4. Who actually is interested in the results unless you were actually playing (if so did they stay to the end of the tournament or leave after their defeat).

Lovely to see luncheon blogging away already today on his trip to Wiltshire and after his great blog on dicipline I am sure will have a good excuse for his latest yellow card! Its great to know that its not just my nephews that have tantrums like this.
Sorry luncheon but it was funny to watch

I really have to take issue with you here Woody because I think BE's position with regard to reporting satellite/challenger events is completely indefensible.
To address your points in order:
1. I am not criticising a failure to have results posted today, they will not be posted AT ALL.
2. As the sanctioning body,BE should REQUIRE the tournament organisers to supply at least basic results(say semis onwards) within 24 hours, plus a brief report of events within a few days.
3.see 1. above
4.Anyone who plays on the satellite circuit would be interested. This would include those who did not enter this particular tournament AND those who were eliminated in early rounds.Plus those like myself who formerly played on the circuit and are still interested in what goes on.County selectors looking for a form guide, fellow club members......the list goes on.I would imagine that the organisers themselves would be quite pleased to see the results of their hard work reflected in print.
BE organise and sanction the circuit but make no attempt to publish results on their website, let alone any sort of report.
Frankly,it beggars belief.

Yes I agree with you it would be good to see all results for all tournaments published within a short time.
The Hampshire Open results in December were on their web site within 4 hours of the event finishing and this surely is a good result and show what can be achieved.
Event organisers are volunteers who by Sunday afternoon have had enough probably which is why there is some form of delay in publishing results.
Writing reports about events you are having a laugh. Until I retired I was the secretary for 6 Police forces sporting associations with 40 differing sporting disciplines organised on a regional and national basis yet could we get results and reports? No.
Yes BE could and should publish reports and results but they can't go out and get them themselves.
What sanction do they have if no one supplies the results? Stop them having the event in the future. I don't think so.
Results are obviously sent to BE or else they cannot adjust the rankings but news is only good provided it is accurate and current. I.E. if the results don't come in and get published within 3/4 days then they are old news.
If you want the results go the organisers as they are the people responsible for producing them.

As always...we are happy to publish results and match/tournament reports within minutes of them happening. Also happy to promote events as well.

Big draw.... big names!!

Yes, but didn't you lose in the 2nd round to a reserve entry? Wasn't it a Elephant that you lost to?
I heard some guy entered his Elephant otherwise it'd be bored outside all day....and the elephant went and beat you?
TheChosenOneReturns!

How did you hear that.....?
I really struggled to move the Elephant round the court, couldn't seem to get the shuttle in behind it....
nightmare!!

Thinking further about it....now I've stopped laughing.....I can't see a way that anyone would beat an elephant......holding the racket in its trunk.....it can get to everything and when it goes up for a jump smash.....if it flaps its ears and flys it must be able to get 10foot high.....devastating!
TheChosenOneReturns!

It was schoosing me with water as well when I was trying to get to the shuttle....
Def a fault in my book!!!
But no umpires in the earlier rounds.

Its alright playing an elephant but they don't do the floor any favours when they land after a jump smash!!
Luncheon
26th February 2007, 16:15
Where was it played?
On the plains of the Kanchanaburi Ratchaburi Province? The Plains would have been able to cope with the elephant landing.....can't be anyworse than an Evans Jump smash landing!
http://http://www.tourismthailand.org/upload/Destination/library/051.jpg
I think the planes are between Salisbury and Melksham, the other side of these waterfalls!

does anyone know who won the mens singles?
TheChosenOneReturns!
26th February 2007, 16:42
Yes, we played this years trials outside on the plains....
In a way, playing an Elephant should have been an advantage as the sun was blocked from getting in my eyes....
The deception though.... unreal!!!
Next year I think I will play Wiltshire instead, better chance, and the Elephant isn't on funding so can't travel...

A guy named Ebeneezer from Leicestershire, originally from Kenya I think I heard.
Would have thought he'll be at Premier A at the end of March.
He beat Mark Ashton from Hampshire.

Surely your on the wind up....??
