Rumour has it that Ben Witham holds the international record for shortest game of mens singles when he beat Paul Butler 15-0 15-0 in the qualifying event at the All England in 11 mins (Needing 32 rallies). I suspect now that the new scoring requires a minimum of 42 rallies this may be a tough act to follow.

I think i can claim to be an eye-witness to the shortest game...
Under 19 Scottish nationals, maybe 2000/ 2001, i was only under 17 i think. Colin Hill, seeded 2, had claimed to be injured and wanted to pull out the singles, but was told he'd have to withdraw from doubles as well. So, wanting to play doubles, he took to the court for the quarter final vs Keith Turnbull and lost 15-0 15-0 in a couple of minutes, by letting every one of Keith's serves land, then hitting them back. The crowd were baffled. No rallies. Only at 14-0 in the 2nd did Keith serve into the net, but Colin just chose to serve under the net back.
The SBU organisers were raging with him...he went on to win the doubles and when asked if they'd put it in a World Record, they got even more angry.
I had my shortest ever match to 21 on Sat at the Glasgow Open.

I noticed you beat McPhail very easily. Was it that match?
I umpired a ladies doubles at the Sussex Elite which took 8 minutes, and the second set only had 22 rallies!

She's a lovely girl! And both are great young juniors. Jenny and Suzanne just didn't make a mistake, and everything went for them.
Suzanne didn't serve in the second set!

Hey Alansd why are you picking on me. Who says I am laughing.
I know both of the young ladies and have umpired them myself and yes they both could beat me up on a court but I have not said anything to their detriment.
When you see the quality of Jenny and Suzanne on court I am not surprised at the score.

It was that match. Started off back n forth, good rallies. Afterwards Stephen said he was unwell and feared being fined if he withdrew so half the 1st set and the 2nd serve was just a serve for me. He just hit it back to me into the net or under. I was just glad to get through, so kept going, but some people were raging.
