Does anyone know why we're seeing a larger amount of scots/english pairs being entered in EBU events and the All England?
There's been quite a few already mentioned, but I see Andrew Bowman is playing with Natalie Munt in Germany, and Suzanne Rayappan is playing with Imogen Bankier.

I would all imagine its about trying to build up each pairs respective rankings to gain funding.
Now that the rules have seriusly changed in relation to funding via Sport Uk there are no national boundaries.
Plus with Imogen and Emma they are both still in their first year at University so may not be able to get off all of the time.

I think it's great, and can only benefit the scottish players.

You come from North of the border so you are biased. Its probably the only way some players will see their ranking advance!!

Do you mean it's the only way Scottish players will advance their rankings?

I would also point out that if I was getting paired up with a Scotty, i'd be asking some questions about my future...!!

I don't think you have to be Scottish to realise that playing with a larger pool of better players will inevitably help your game.

Watson Briggs and Andrew Bowman just won the Scottish nationals, and are both at the German Open, but aren't playing together. Seems really odd.

Met him a couple of years ago. He's one Scot that could compete with the top English players given a chance with a good partner in mixed or mens.

Watson Briggs is obviously a good player. Whether they are a good match is yet to be discovered. One guess is that coaches/organisations are starting to experiment with building relationships for the Olympics in London because that's a GB event as opposed to a England/Scotland/Wales Event?
