Nope ... sorry. But then I don't know what a coaching bed is either !!

Is that a new idea for the lazy ones like Luncheon who want to do their training but get to stay in their kip at the same time ?

Hi This is the link to the Herts coaching register, I would advise talking to various coaches and ask them who they coach already and to what standard, But it is important to get a coach that can teach rather than recite,

This is all about how well they relate to your daughter so a bit of trial and error may be involved or go for a group session to get a: feel of what is available, and be prepared the hard work ,effort, sweat and tears and thats just the parents! :D

thank you very much. I had looked at it and i know some of the people but I also know there are often good coaches out there who don't put their names on the register and surprisingly there are no Chinese or Malaysian coaches on it...as that is a particular requirement I thought there might be another way!!
thanks though

Why do you think all the Chinese and Malaysian coaches are not putting their names on the register ??

:D

fizzie

i have no idea
maybe there are none?
maybe they don't want to coach?
maybe they have enough 'business?
maybe they don't want to coach snotty nosed kids who don't want to learn?
maybe they don't know there is a register? It took me a lot of searching to find one.
maybe they only teach for the love of the game and therefore take opportunities as and when they come along rather than coaching as a 'business'. It is then a question of being in the right place at the right time which i have always been totally useless at or else posting to a list like this and hoping someone might see it.

Now, what do you think?

The point I am merely taking is that un-registered coaches are a slippey slope with the ways we live in these days !!

I shall not characterise the Scotties again !!

when we hire people for coaching, we should focus on the ability of the individual and should not discriminate them with their immigrant status...we should respect human right... the uk allows them to get into the country, we should help them to earn a living with their ability...they make contribution to the great briten...it's much better than those legal immigrant getting their living with social securities since the age of 21
as they have already entered the country, which one do you prefer:
1 earn money with their skills (like teaching badminton)
2 starve to dead
3 rob or steal
4 do some monkey business

Cor isn't talking about people who are here legally, he is talking about those who have NO RIGHT TO BE BE here.

Actually cor it si bit like saying would I let a paedophile coach my child, how would i know? I sit courtside with my children (or very close) that is how I know!!

Seeing as they all partake in option 3 anyway, the chosen one chooses Option 2.

i know...but those who have arrived safely in the great britain should be protected by human right...just think about the ancesters who came to these islands, who gave them the right to live there?

my point is, some good human beings are coaching badminton to exchange their hard-learnt skills and techniques for money to sustain their lives...they are trying not to lead a life with stealing, robbing or social securities...should we respect their human rights...don't you agree that human right is greater than legal right

lol.

anyway as a junior member of Herts badminton i can pretty much tell you the reason you cant find any chineese or malaysian coaches is because there are none.
one of the best of atleast thought to be best coach is Nick Goode although im not sure if he does one on one anymore and ive never liked him all that much.
i would recomend my current coach but hes about to stop but there are a couple of other good ones there.
however most of the good ones are not in north herts but are more central or southern. Mr. Steve Willis is a excellent coach in St. Albans who used to do a lot of county coaching but gave it up.
If they have to be in North Herts (i suggest you g ofurther a field if you want the best) then the two coaches on that list from Hitchin are alright. (but their styles arent completely orthodox).

hope that helps.

I dont know many coaches off the list in Hertfordshire, but having seen both Kelly Matthews and Steve Willis who both have coached at Comets badminton club (and individually for a lot of members) I know they have great coaching ability. Both have played at a high level and coach a number of county juniors (indidually) so they maybe able to help.
