Who is going to win this then?

Both singles events seem quite open now Bonsels is injured, and the doubles superstars are not playing the singles. My money will be on Mark "cross court smash" Middleton and Kate "cross court drop" Robertshaw. But I think there are about 6 players in each that coduld do it.

Must be a dream James to imagine actually hitting the shuttle downwards ?

If Chris Hotchen has recovered from his knee injury he could do it, equally Arthur Cheung has played some good matches this season, pushing Neil White to 3 in York.

D'Cruz is the man to beat but Sam Phillips is an outsider to avoid

I know - it's a bit of a novelty to find Yorkshire players under the age of 40 with actual shots. Mind you, both of them are about 7 foot so it helps them to hit down!

Panuga will be the girl to beat in the girl's singles, if she plays.

Panuaga's hardly been seen this season so I would of thought someone like Fontaine with some results under her belt would be more favourite.

Fontaine beat Panuga earlier this season if I remember rightly, Wimbledon I think. Sarah Walker has to be a major consideration and due to meet Panuga in the semis if everything goes to seeding.

Panuga did lose to Fontaine at the Wimbledon, but it was very close and Panuga threw it away. And Panuga is younger and has more to learn.

I gather you are looking at a Fontaine/Panuga final Marky, I still think it'll be a Sarah/Fontaine final, and think Kate Robertshaw is the only one who could upset that.
