Due to the withdrawal of a team, anyone interested in some places that have come available at the ISBT (International Student Badminton Tournament) in Cambridge from 26 – 30 March 2007?

ISBTs are held throughout Europe and this will be the ISBT return to the UK after a gap of a few years. They provide for 3 days of badminton, are a great social for a few days and relatively inexpensive for what you get.

ISBTs are primarily aimed at students or recent graduates. The general idea is you don't need a partner, just decide on which 2 disciplines you wish to play and for doubles events you will be drawn a partner from someone in the same standard category. We have 4 graded categories A/B/C/D. You will play rounds of each discipline over the 3 days with finals on the last afternoon.

Playing days are 27-29 March. Cost is £155 that includes entry fee, 4 nights accommodation with breakfast x 3, lunch x 3, dinner x 3 and 3 nights out (not drinks).

ISBT website is www.isbt-uk.co.uk - you'll find info there and details on contacts and how to enter.
You don't need a big team; in fact you don't need a team at all, we have individuals playing as well as a couple of quite large teams. We'll have well over 100 players there so should be a good event.
Email to info@isbt-uk.co.uk or PM or post if you want any further info.

Highly recommend the ISBTs...I've been to about 5 now. Most in Norway but the last one in the UK was newcastle I believe.

Best 4 days of fun I've had :) plus i won the mixed B with a lovely Danish girl :D

Don't think I can make it this year though :(

DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!

The badminton is really just an excuse to hook up with a load of like minded individuals and have a hell of a time with the nights out being top quality banter-ific events...

naturally the badminton is top dollar as well because of such a mix of playing standards to suit everyone, I love going to bed at 6am consecutively each night and getting up 9am bladdered and playing singles catergory C lol

been to about 11/12 ISBT's now (Newcastle, Norway & Holland) and each and everyone has been AWSOME!!

NOT TO BE MISSED, AS ITS ORGANISED BY ISBT VETERANS!! THEY KNOW THE CRACK ;-)

Much love ISBT homies xxx

Thanks for the backing - ISBTs really do mean a great few days. The idea was to bring ISBTs back to the UK after Newcastle could no longer run so hopefully we'll put on an event worthy of the name. With the committee having more than 75 ISBTs attended between them, Lefty and IS, no doubt our paths will have crossed - hope we all equally badly behaved!! Shame you can't make it this year (bear next year in mind!), hope to see others from here in Cambridge in March.
