Hello all, what exactly is the standard of play required to enter the All England? I always thought it was for very high level players but on qualifying day, I watched a couple of players and they seemed ever so outclassed and I felt sorry for them. Their games were over so quickly.
If league players can enter then I'm putting my name down for next year!

the tango doll!

ps: despite those poor ladies seeming outclassed, it was a good day and I enjoyed it.

I know the games you are referring to, and I'm not entirely sure what happened. I would be surprised if they had actually entered through the normal routes (but maybe they did!!??!)

I personally think the matches should have been scrathed. Sometimes it's not better just to fill the spaces in the draw.

Apparently, with the withdrawals in the Main draw and people having to be promoted the qualifying was so sparse they had to accept everyone that had entered, Including a couple of girls who should really of been on the other side of the fence. Can't say I would be too amused if I was one of the far eastern girls who had flown round the world, lost a close game in the second round of qualifying just to see some British players effectively getting a bye with those.

it crazy opening the draw like this, could you imagine if they had ended up getting a wo into the main draw BOE would have been a laughing stock. should have left it as a bye
