Just curious about the word 'grap'....where does that come from? I know grap doesn't have a sticky underside, enabling you to reposition it when you apply it to the handle...but why else are they used and what is the origin? Grap does not quite seem like a proper word to me :D

I've been fiddling about for a while now trying to get the perfect grip set up for me; I now find I like to just put one grap over the original manufacturers grip. The thing is I'm quite picky when it comes to the exact thickness. 2 graps are too thin, a normal replacement grip (eg. karakal) over a grap is ever so slightly too thick; as the manufacturers grip is slightly thinner than a karakal one.....Problem with grap is it being thin (and usually in white) it needs replacing pretty frequently...Then there are towel grips, but I wont even go there. So what about everyone else, what do they go for?

You sound like my mate, he's picky on the how thick it needs to be. You could try using a different brand name for different thickness or different grip types. You could try Ashaway grips or I've brought a box of cheap grips (since need replacing often ish) from www.sportdicount.com and they are alright.

Don't feel alone in being picky in how thick your grip is, I'm forever doing my mate's till he's happy (I do it cause most people do a bodge job of putting grips on, including him), and when he got a free Ashaway and put that on, it threw everything into chaos!

From what I know, stay away from towel grips as not worth it, and that is what I have been told by an honest manufactuer as I haven't tried towel grips. I started a thred on towel grips but didn't get as much feedback as I was hoping for.

As for grap, news to me! Let me know if you find out!
