Hello! I have difficulty keeping the wrist a right angle. Many people told me not to keep it horizontal, but I cannot do so in spite of my efforts.I'm a beginner, and I'm willing to receive any advice :)

Kyoko, can you add a bit more detail so we know what type of stroke you are trying to play. Can you also explain what you mean with right angle and horizontal. Thanks.

Thank you for responding! I'm not sure if I can tell you about my problem properly, but I will try. I heard that I must use the wrist when playing badminton. They say that if the arm and the hand are in a straight line, then I cannot stroke a clear, a smash, and so on strongly. I wonder if they mean my wrist is limp...

i no how you feel i always had this problem. Even now i still have this problem occasionly i hold the raquet wrong when i havnt played for a while. I even played as a junior in a final with a glove on me right hand because i commonly got a blister on my middle finger from where the raquet rubbed against it. The thing is you possibly will just grow out of the habbit as time goes on, Dont give up triing to hold the raquet in the correct way because one day it wont feel awkward in the way you hold it, hope my advice is a help.
