George Rimarcdi of Sweden has beaten Colin Haughton in the first round 12/15, 15/5, 15/7.

How does he maintain his position at no.1 if he continues to go out early in nearly every tournament?

I was down there watching the action today.

Rimarcdi was clearly the better player ... Haughton actually looked sick when he walked off the court and throughout the match he was very very slow when it came to getting ready for the next point.

Been to watch the Semi's this arvo. Excellent stuff ... Wales players are in two finals and England I think are in two as well.

Julian Robertson and Peter Jeffery came back from a game down. Andrew Smith in the singles seem to have given up by the third game.

While in the Womens Doubles it is an all England affair with Parker/Rayappan vs Tripp/Wright.

It was disappointing to see about 6 no make that 7 people supporting the English players. Maybe someone should charge spectators £30 to watch like they do in Football !!!

I was at the Welsh and thought the standard was very high. I thought it was a bit stupid that in the quarter finals there were no Line judges. This caused big problems as two players nearly ended up having a fight over a line call that decided a match. DREADFUL

They didn't have enough people interested in helping out as line-judges.

That's why they didn't have them for the quarter-finals.

To be fair to Haughton in this particular case, Ramarcdi is a nasty draw 1st round, seeded or not!!

The BAoE website suggests that he is getting some tests done to see whether he has a virus which has affected his performance over the last 6 mths.

I agree though, his opponent had the upperhand throughout the whole match.
