I feel pain whenever I raise my left leg. I think it's not the muscle or tendon, but the ball & socket joint which is the source.

Any medical advice will be greatly appreciated.

Scott,

I would suggest you see your GP or sports physio. It could be anything causing the problem, but if left untreated or un-diagnosed, you could further injure yourself.

Can you remember what you were doing when the leg started causing you pain? Has the pain moved to another area since? Or Intensified? Is it better or worse when sitting down or lying down...think it through and see a GP!!

Scott - How old are you ?

If you are in your early teens there is a very common 'disease' called I think Osgood-slaters Disease which I think is caused by the body developing too quickly.

This causes pain just below the knee-cap. Impact sports like running on roads, jumping etc would affect it.

My brother and myself had this problem when we were growing up.

Now if you are not in your early/mid teens, then maybe it is just old age !!

However I agree with Rachel, see a doctor at a minimum but by all means look up the word (I dont think I spelt it correctly though).

If it hurts when you raise your leg then I suggest you don't do it.

Thanks guys!

Maybe I stretched my legs too much when I was trying to save a drop shot to the net from my opponent. But I'm a right-hand player and always step out with my right foot for the situation. So I really don't know the cause. The pain is not worsening and still constrained to the joint. It hurts only when I raise my left thigh. I'll see my GP if the pain sustains.
