Satellite Tournaments

I am going to enter some Satellite Tournaments next season, but I have never played in one before. My question is this - will my entry be accepted on a first come, first served basis - or do the organisers have other acceptance criteria, i.e. a player's ranking position within the county?

Hi Chris, Good to learn you are keen to enter Satellite Tournaments next season. Perhaps you would interested in entering our Cornwall Open of which I am the Chairperson and Hon. Secretary. The event takes place each September and attracts about 100 players from all parts of the Country. Obviously I cannot speak for other Tournaments, but as far as ours is concerned there is no acceptance criteria, as long as you are affiliated to a club or County then your entry will be accepted with pleasure. Our prize fund stands in excess of 1K in total and in addition to the usual knock out competition we also run a plate event for first round losers should you be unfortunate enough to get drawn against the No. 1 seed in the first round.
