Has anyone tried the carlton airblade ASI? If so, what is it like to play with? I'm thinking of getting one...

My friend uses one at the moment. He is very satisfied with it. A very light racquet.

I have a couple and have tried them at various string tensions.

Great rackets, especially if you can get them for £50 now.

I must admit that I do not have much knowledge when it comes to my equipment, a variety or rackets seem the same to me. How do I find the best racket to use with a reasonable price.

what is this racket like on power? Do the improved aerodynamics really help acheive more power, or is it sapped by the stiffer frame and head-light weight?

I have tried it but it's too light and gives me a dodgy arm! if you want a racket with power try the Carlton 3.7s. Can get them for about 30 sovs, a right touch!

Always find threads like this somewhat amusing.....

The number of people who seem to be under the impression that changing the racket they use will radically change their game....or that buying the racket used by a world champion will increase their own performance.

Seems bizzarre that so many people will happily spend £50-£150+, all for a POSSIBLE minor improvement on one aspect of their game.......but offer them an hours coaching for £20, which would almost certainly improve their game...........and they say its too expensive

John, speaking personally I purchase just about every racket from Carlton and Yonex in the upper ranges

Ask me the reason, well it's because they are all different and give you good pieces of a game, as far as I am concerned no one racket is good for everything. Some days I need a racket that I get more power smashing and some days I need a racket that gives me more control. The only way to improve your game is find a racket thet you are happy with and take it from there, sure a coach can show you what to do with it but YOU NEED TO FEEL COMFORTABLE with your racket.

Something I never have.

And why do you find this thread amusing it discusses (allbeit one liners generally) only the one racket which was marketed because of the improved aerodynamics and the fact it can be strung to 40lbs no problem.

well i disagree...

i think that a new racquet can dramatically improve your game.

its all down to weighting etc tho not down to price
