The best all-england final of the last few years, has to be last years mens doubles final. Four of the best doubles players on the planet, Sigit, Candra, Halim and Tony. THIS WAS PROBABLY THE BEST DOUBLES MATCH, anyone could ever find, although this years semi between Sigit and Candra and Kim and Ha was pretty damn good too.

I'll always remember the great singles finals of the 80's. Masters like Morten Frost, Yang Yang, Liem Swie King. Then there was Rudy Hartono who dominated the 70's.

We don't seem to get the same sort of singles finals now for some reason....??

I agree, the singles games aren't anywhere near as entertaining as the 80's games. That's why the All England hasn't recieved the kind of coverage that it did in the 70's and 80's.

There doesn't seem to be the personalities. I almost fell asleep during this years mens singles. I found the ladies far more entertaining to watch.

Sugiarto Frost 1987 was one to remember and it also generated the longest singles rally ever at over 90 strokes!

Cheers - I watched the BBC last sunday and the Olypics last time around, but I have never had the chance to see much coverage except once in a blue moon. But, yes, the womens game is much more enjoyable. Does anyone know when the BBC will be screening badminton again? i cant find anything on their site even though they have the next three years worth of it.

The ladies are definitely more entertaining to watch... especially when Camilla Martin is playing!
