At last, would you all believe that a new TV station is being launched soon in the UK devoted to minority sports such as badminton, swimming & cycling. Not only that, it's going to be on Freeview TV.

For those who don't know what that is, you can get a converter to plug into your normal aerial from around £60 now from Argos, Currys, Comet, etc.

For further information read the following articles and I suggest that we all e-mail the new TV station so that they know just how much interest there is. This may well be a one-time opportunity for us in the UK to get what we want finally.

This is what I posted ages - article is back on 27th June 2003.

Great idea - however this has now gone belly-up as they were taking too long so the company that owned the 'free' channel rights terminated their contract.

That's just typical!!!

Reading the article, it sounded too good to be true but hey, it would've been a fantastic channel.

I wonder if anyone knows if another company would be willing to follow through the idea?

How about the BAofE getting on the case before our sport becomes a media dodo?

Believe me, the BAofE is working non-stop to try to get the sport on TV.
