locked and deleted threads

why are so many threads being deleted and locked now. the most popular thread ever was locked a few days ago and for what? no inappropiate comments. all were badminton orientated so why take them off. how come john gurling seems to decide now, whatever he asks for he gets, not the community rubbish you gave us, whatever gurling wants he gets.
