Hello all

After playing for six months with various friends I joined a club for coaching and techinique improvement. I'm rather good at Badders and enjoy the games of doubles we play..However I'm piqued by the lack of singles I can play competively. It seems that in Brighton one can't play singles..Is this Universal?

Very helpful answers people!

The UK badminton structure isn't really set up for singles but you may be able to find a cell of singles players within your area - there are very few formal leagues. If you contact the Sussex Badminton Association for more information they might be able to help you.

Micheal

I'm interested as a newbie to this community as to why you say the UK Badminton structure is not set up for singles. My initial post was inspired by the comments of my coach who just said she didn't know why there was a lack of singles leagues etc.I realise the paucity of such leagues maybe just specific to certain areas of the country. ie Sussex, however I'm interested to know a little more about your comments and views on why.
