Swiss Open

I was led to believe that a new trial was going to take place at the Swiss Open. This was going to be one serve only in the doubles games. Does anyone know if this happened? I cannot see anything about it in the reports.

Yes it did happen. The doubles were played with one server only in each turn of service. So far I have only heard two reactions and both were very positive.
It went as far as not wanting to go back to the traditional service distribution routine.
It won't last though, Europe will have a tough enough job finding a strategy to preserve 5x7 for the future without all this extra work of having to deal with changes within the system.

Mind, there has not yet been any official reaction from the IBF office and I don't think there will be any.

As things seem to be at the moment, there is a majority for implementation of 5x7, but this majority does not reach the required 2/3 needed to change the Laws. Europe, America and Oceania seem to be in favour and Asia, not including Japan, is not.

The World of Badminton seems to be preparing for battle over this issue at the next IBF AGM.
