Hi,

Just wondering what opinions people have on types of racket grips, are towelling ones better than PU's. Which are the best PU's, and where to get them from cheap?

i use a stitched ribbed sort of grip with holes in which absorb the sweat. this grip is comfortable and useable. i found towelling grips initially absorbed the sweat then when they get old/ dry - the towelling moulds and wears away too quickly.
i get my grips either from Yehlex or Ashaway. although if you go to the big tournaments, Yehlex is usually there selling their grips at reasonable prices.

hi - i find the carlton factory grips are great - probably just a personal favourite as i've not been able to buy replacement grips for them - anybody know where i might be able to get them from?

apart from the carlton one i find the Karakal Super PU grips very good - once i've stretched them round two grips.

Cheers,
Neil

Neil, Yehlex do a grip EXACTLY like the carlton ones.

I found it on their stand when looking for a carlton grip myself

PU grips are the most commercial and are therefore considered the best. However people often overlook Snow Peak grips, circulating in the south of England. They are exremely durable and very cheap, the best non-towelling grips you can find.

Just a point for the towel grips. I use them because the rubber grips rub holes in my hands and I find it hard to hit a smash when I've not got much skin left on my hand to cushion it! So if you are having the same problem I can recommend towel grips. They tend to be cheaper, but need to be replaced more often. If you can find a roll of the stuff, then its very handy...even though it may resemble carpet!

Whenever i have used towel grip i found them very slippy like i was going to throw away the racket or at least trying harder to hold on to the racket than hit the shot, is there a reason for this? do you have to build up towel grips?
