Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you join to buy shuttles in bulk?

Hi Robin

Yehlex .. www.yehlex.co.uk .. does sell some good quality shuttles at low cost .. like the Space Arrow Brand Blue that my club use (even if it says for training) at £6 per tube. There will likely b bulk discount if you do go that way .. they may even send you some sample shuttles to try ..

Looi,

Thanks for the info. I will try them.

Note: Below are comments given from my club. Please let me know if you think otherwise

1. Tronex (fly too far)
2. Sosan (flight and durability average)
3. Yonex AS10 (the ideal shuttle at the moment)
4. Yelex Tournament (2nd to Yonex AS 10)
5. Ashaway red tournament (good in flight but not durable)

Regards,

Robin

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the comments on the other shuttles.

I agree with the Tronex, Ashaway shuttles. Never tried Sosan. Yonex is good but expensive? I found that for the price that Yehlex tournament was charging it would be better to get something like Snow Peak (best grade) from Wembley Sports.

The brand we use is a very low and hence cannot be compared against the best BUT it is good for its price and players have very rarely commented on it.

At the end of the day, the quality you get will probably depend on how much you are willing to pay.

If it is of any help to you the Yonex Aero 30 is a good shuttle for playing matches.Good on durability and consistent on speed. Not too badly priced for bulk purchases.Cheaper shuttles are not always the best option.Sometimes it is adviseable to pay a little bit extra to avoid arm /shoulder injuries to players and add to their enjoyment.Best Wishes Phil.

I believe DSS merged with RSL and between them they produce excellent shuttles, not sure of price though.

send a postcard to the address below and request a sample tube of shuttles: Reinforced Shuttlecocks Limited, Sandown Road, Sandwich, Kent CT13 9NU

good luck!

Tango doll,
Do you know when DSS merged with RSL?

Because I played with supposedly "the best" DSS shuttles at Cornwall satellite back in September and they are awful!...... Tournament is always very enjoyable, apart from the shuttles.

Chris, in the Badminton magazine Sept 2003, it states that RSL took over DSS on June 30th - i guess 2003!!

I've played with DSS shuttles and they were fine, but I would say that the storage has a lot to do with them.
I have RSL shuttles and because I can't keep them cool, moist etc they break very easily.

If you have issues, I'd say contact RSL and ask for a tube of sample shuttles - it might make a difference?

RSL, Sandown Road, Sandwich, Kent CT13 9NU

good luck

Hi Gang!

I notice your comments about quality shuttles at agreat price.

Have you tried the "PowerHunter" Feather shuttles, designed by Chris Hunt, from www.powerplaysports.co.uk

They sell from £9.50, down to as little £7.50 for bulk buy. They are grade one, top quality goose feather shuttles.
