how about creating a forum for the juniors so that they can have their silly little arguments about nothing and their "short hand typing" messages away from the proper forum?
topics could include;
we're better than you,no we're better than you,no no we're better than you,you suck we rule,no you suck we rule,we're the best your the worst,no your the worst we're the best etc,etc......

I must say I think it is a very sad attitude some of you have. Only the great Vorpulus is above everyone else, so I don't know why you think you are. You sound ridiculous to me saying 'Agreed' as if you are the mature ones, the elite ones. I am the only elite person around here, though there are a few possible apprentices.

Far as i remember Phil i as involved with a good discusion with u on court behaviour am afraid i thk it was u and another 'mature' user who ruined the topic and took it far off course with your own argument and 'jokes' view what your doing people, before going after juniors plz

Rickterby,
Atleast Phil writes so that people can understand his humour.

However, Phil I think we should let them have a forum for themselves to play on.
Like a spiders web look what we have caught in the kiddys room.
Rickterby, Faarrrin and possibly many more kiddys....

Just like a sand pit in the summer.

You will find that they wil play for hours amongst themselves.
Let the big boys play on the older forums.....

Vorpulus are you not a bit of a fantasy character? It would seem that is where your posts come from, priceless nontheless but not in a mastercard advert way!

With the regards to the court behaviour thread it would seem that the psychological gamesmanship has migrated to the postings elsewhere would it not?

And what happened to the "taking threads off topic" thread?

Game on!

Vorpulus

No, this is not some sort of dream McBride. The great Vorpulus does exist and doesn't expect to be questioned by a man who feels the need to force a thread made my himself to evolve into a shambles of a discussion orbiting himself and his desire to coach in England.

Orbiting himself - well my profile does insinuate i'm big but hopefully not that big Vorpy.

In terms of the thread topic, I agree, purely on the grounds that the juniors seem to use text talk more than anyone else, almost to the point of exclusivity. Yes we can all understand/decipher text talk, but the fact that there is no reason for it being used on a forum where there is no limit to the word count.
Someone said to me on another thread in which text talk was criticised that I could have got my message across quicker by using text talk. Yes, very true, it would have taken half the time to type, but ironically it would have taken twice as long for a lot of people to understand it!!
One final note on it from my perspective, I studied english to a-level, so I would find it hypocritical to revert to text talk unnecessarily although that is a personal reason!!

Its also a pain in the arse to type

Plus it's no help for anyone on this site whose first language is not english

flamingjam

puedo ver sus puntos pero separándose encima de los tableros isn't de la discusión una idea elegante los sitios pequeños como ella es

thats a differnt language people text isn't that extreme

danbelcher
14th June 2004, 11:56
do you feel that was constructive James?

Why use text talk when you can write as much as you like on this forum and not be limited by space or cost?

Most children only use text speak because their spelling isn't good enough to use predictive text.

PeteG

Actually, you made more sense there than in text! Anyway, going back to what I said previously, there are other people who use this site who don't speak non-english languages but could quite easily.
They use English because the majority of people on this site understand English, so it is better for communication. To you text may not be that extreme, but did you consider that for some older users, or people who don't own a mobile phone it might be a real pain in the arse?

agreed with get the kids off and play elsewhere. Leave us adults alone.
I think Vorpus lives on Mars. I bet he stare at his opponents in the hope he bend their raquets like Uri Geller.
You into spoon bending Vorpus?

flamingjam

Firstly yes i understand your problems about text speak firstly and i add that i dont use it because others cant understand it. Also my thread would have made sense if you could read spanish well so yes can see how not understanding is annoying but really very few threads/posts using text speak really guys also:
Eddy The Whatever you are dont see how your post is particularly 'constructive'
dont preech about young people being unable to use english or spell because they can.
Also 'kids' is viewed as a degrading term now by many people keep it juniors

Seems like you've been flying too close to the sun again Eddy. You're talking nonsense with incorrect grammar. Fortunately for you your head and wings are sun-burnt enough to camouflage the embarrassment you are now suffering. I'm sure your eagle friends will see through it though.

Vorpus the kid.
this isnt one of your english lessons so who cares wot I say as long as it can be read. be a good boy now and go to play with your freinds in the sand pit as the others have told you to do. or go and bend some spoons instead in that fantasy world you live in.
And for the record Vorpus the kid doesnt say nothing constructive to nobody.
