I am in 2 minds whether to buy the MP 99 or MP 100. What is the difference? Which is better for the attacking game?

Apparently these are the rackets used
by the top palyers.
LIN Dan - MP99
CHEN Hong - MP99
WONG Choong Hann - CAB21
BAO Chunlai - Ti10
LEE Hyun II - AT700
GADE Peter - MP88
XIA Xuanze - CAB20
SHON Seung Mo - AT700
KUNCORO Sony Dwi - MP99
I have to say that I have heard very good things about the MP99

The answer to which one is better for the attacking game:
The one that you feel works for you.
You honestly have to try them both because although simmilar they have differences which may affect one or more areas of your game. Even the difference between the 2U and 3U will give you differences in the same racket.

Mark, a lot depends on which style of play you adopt. I do not know how true it is but you can refer to the graph Yonex put up to determine which style of play = which racket. The most important is the one, like Phil mentioned, you feel works for you. Good Luck!

hi there the mp99s a great racket ive used the mp100 as one of the squad got one of donna kellogg whan she changed sponsers to carlton.
I Find the mp99 quicker in pick-up and head spped to the 100 also 99s are easy to get than the 100 unless u no someone or pro thats selling one. The 99 is once u get used to it a very powerful racket and is easyer to use around the net and court than the 100. any questions post them and ill get back 2 you

WONG Choong Hann does not use the Cab21. He is a contracted player for Gosen so therefore he cannot use any racquet other than one with Gosen brand.

As far as I know, most of the members from the Chinese National Team have switched from MP to AT.
Buy AT.

Incorrect. The Badminton association of malaysia is sponsored by GOSEN, and he represents the BAM in tournaments. Gosen however allow the BAM top players to use the rackets they like as long as they paint the gosen logo on the strings. WCH DOES use the cab 21.
also FYI the hashim brothers use yonex equipment because although they represent malaysia in tournaments, they dont represent the BAM, instead they represent nusa mashuri their club (which is sponsored by yonex, hence their clothing/rackets.
I think that list is more or less correct, but can change from tournament to tournament with the younger players.

I'd also be interested in the differences between the MP99 & MP100. I mainly play doubles but want to expand a little into singles, and I guess I'd have to say I'm an amateur; however, I'm pumped up after seeing a tournament last weekend and am wanting to advance as much as possible. I wouldn't be interested in buying another racquet for about a year, but I *think* I'd be interested in one of these two.
Thanks.

I think you will find the MP100 has been discontinued by Yonex.
I swapped to a AT800 Off, but i am not 100% convinced by it, I recently broke a string and went back to my MP100 and improved quite a bit!!
I am trying to get hold of MP100 as i love the racket.
