Great work, I'm sure it'll be as good, if not better than the existing site.

Hi Daniel...the plan is to migrate all the data across so nothing will be lost.
We are looking to achieve a magazine style site with more features, more interviews, more news, tournament results, more editorial and an improverd forum.

Sounds great. The magazine style format with more interviews, articles etc. will make the home page more interesting, but will take loads more work. Hope everything works out ok

Interesting you should say that Mel.
When we started the whole Badders concept about three years ago we had little content and had to haggle with people to get them to contribute.
We now have a regular stream of content provided and nowhere to put it! We hope the new design and format will allow us to publish everyhting as well as encourage even more contributions.
We will also make it really easy to contribute as well...so no excuses for not sharing!

Doesn't surprise me! It is notoriously difficult to get people to contribute (constructively!).
Its good to hear there is loads of new content to be uploaded. The forum is great, but it's nice to see the articles and interviews as well. What we all regularly log on for is to see what's new on the site.
As you say, it's good to share! It's not fair to slag Martin Dew-Hattens off for not writing his promised article on deception, but surely there are other people out there with SOMETHING to contribute? We shouldn't leave it all to him.
My worry is that after the early weeks the new material will dry up, which would be a real shame. Suggest we all get off our bums and try and make it work, even if it's only taking a camera along to the local county matches!

Martin has written some excellent articles on a number of topics now. It's a pleasure to have them on the site.
With the new news system it will be possible for people to upload photographs along with a report. Whether they are county matches, league matches or tournaments it will be great to see both reports and a few photographs.

I agree. Martin has a knack of writing articles that are both interesting and prod people into being either very pro or very anti - which makes for lively debate!
Although pictures and reports of a league match miles away may not interest everyone, we all log on because we are hungry for information; that's why we use the Internet. If a site stays fresh, more and more people log on regularly, more information gets uploaded and we all win.

Geting nearer to launch date.
We are migrating the old data across at the moment...we're hoping this won't take too long!
Don't forget anyone will be able to submit news, features etc so get thinking now what you can contribute to the community.

We have had a positive response with people offering content for the new site.
Is there anyone who wants to do a regular column (maybe monthly) or provide regular reports for something?
If interested can you send a quick note to: editor@badders.com
Many thanks.
Regards,
Site Support
PS. We hope to launch the new site in the next week or so!!
