Hi,

Does anyone know why fracture marks appear on the inside top bit of the frame head after restringing? Even when the tension is a low 18lb. It looks like a 'crushed' mark/indent.

The store that does my restringing can't give me any answer except for the fact that i request too high a tension?! 21/22lb is not high is it?

Any comments on how to advise them to stop denting my racquets would be appreciated. :)

Sounds as if the racket is or has not been secured in the clamps properly.

Normal tensions are around the 25lbs mark for many and 18lbs is very loose and well within guidelines for all racket manufacturers, if it's under 1 year old take it back to the shop you bought it in and ask them to return to the manufacturer for inspection, get a letter from your stringer verifying that they have strung it within the acceptable tension range as set out for that perticular racket so there is no room for comeback.

Probably happened due to securing the frame too tightly when fasteing the racket onto the machine so when they tightened the main strings the racket bent around the head point.

Just go to a different stringer.

Thanks for the info. I think James is right about the frames being secured too tightly. That was my suspicion after having seen the same fractures appearing on many different make of racquets.

I wonder if anyone knows of a good badminton restringing site or link i can learn from? I want to improve my own restringing techniques so i won't need to use my local restringers. Most site i've come across are just for tennis/squash racquets.

Thanks.
