Why have we lost the option of putting comments after the news articles?

Although used a great deal when the feature was brought in, usage has dropped off dramatically. In fact, there were only 3 comments made in the last 8 months.

There was also criticism that comments were becoming fragmented with yet another place to write something.

When everything was taken into account it was decided to drop the comment facility of commenting after a news article.

The more places there are to post, the more tha chance people will become engaged in the discussion and the bigger the site or forum will become. The fact that there are more places to post means the lots of little pieces go together to make a bigger whole.

What happens after a news article that raises a specific issue ie. someone being prosecuted for child abuse, should we not have the ability to respond or do we have to start a new thread meaning people have to read the news then migrate over to the forum to post?

It means people cannot give their opinions in the place where they need to be raised rather than starting a new thread.

Will the comment facility after the news articles be stopped permanently?

Hi B.B.I.L.

I am in fact neither, I have seen the badminton sets for sale in the "Argos" catalogue and felt it a good idea to comment!
