We have been asked many times where the ignore button is. Just as a quick reminder to everyone, the ignore button simply means that you will not see any posts from the user that you choose to ignore. Everyone else in the thread will remain visible.

To 'ignore somebody' - simply click on the username of that person and that will take you to their profile. Above the words Contact Info you will see *Add USERNAME to Your Ignore List*. Simply click and it is done.

There is not much point removing posts from a thread from certain individuals since the rest of the thread may hinge on what was said, even in the worst ramblings there are often hidden gems.

Phil,

You have a good point and many members will not use this service. However, there are many members who want to talk about badminton without 'personal insults' (quote).

It is every individuals prerogative to use the forum as they see fit and if they feel that some members show them a lack of respective and laden their posts with 'personal insults' (quote) then they have every right to use the ignore button.

We are glad to see you won't be using it Phil ;)

Just pointing out that the "ignore" button gets rid of all posts by that user and not just the ones with "inapropriate" dialogue, if you remove all posts by a user the thread will take a different course and what has been said before might be repeated by the user who uses the ignore button.

Anyway I would guess that I would be on the receiving end of a few "ignore" buttons being clicked. ;)

I agree with Phillippe, pressing the ignore button should not delete all previous posts by an individual, as they may have made some valuable contribution to a thread in the past.
Exclusion should be more democratic than Site support making a unilateral decision.
Complaints must be veryfied and the members should have some ownership of excluding an individual.

Ignore doesn't delete any posts, it just means you can't see them.

I agree with Phil on this one, the ignore button will affect the conversation had by all the members if some cant read what others have posted. if there was a way to hide the cr...rubbish posts then it would be good,
*now a way to hide the communism thread???*

Don't agree with me - your standing on the site will have plumited, after such a good start too.

If you don't want to get mail notification just scroll down the e-mail that gets sent every time someone replies and unsubscribe from the thread by clicking on the link so you don't get updated every time someone posts.

Either that or you shouldn't have posted, me, I think it is very relevant to the recent goings on!

Out of curiosity, has anyone got me on their ignore list?

They won't be able to see your question...surely? Anyway, i do agree with your point on this occasion, i dont believe in taking sides due to people, only for what i believe in so...i dont care if my standing has gone down, this is my position on this topic!

Is there a way to remove someone from your ignore list?

The reason I was asking is basically because you could abuse the hell out of them and they'd never know because they don't get to see your posts.

Bit of a no brainer really

Phil you're constantly rambling on about how you're disliked here. Stop it.

BANKS claims to have put me on his ignore list. What a banker.

I'm sure there's some irony in that comment!! ;)

Add USERNAME to Your Ignore List[/B]*. Simply click and it is done.

I tried the above out. Life is so much better in badders.com. The ignore button is surely one of the best "invention".
I think all of the visitors should register a name here for trying out the button, and occasionally drop a few lines too. You will have better experience @badders.com.
Thank you very much.
