As reported in one of the Malaysian newspaper Indonesia's Taufic Hidayat has received an incentive that is expected to re-ignite his fire ahead of the Thomas Cup finals in Japan from 28 April - 7 May.

The Jakarta Post reported that Olympic and World champion Taufic was given a 320 sq meter piece of land from Sutiyoso, the chairman of the All-Indonesia Badminton Association. It was reported that the land, in Joglo, West Jakarta, was given as an appreciation to the 25 year old Taufic's excellent achievements.

Taufic suffered a back injury and withdrew from the Asian Badminton Championships in Johor, Malaysia, recently.

Indonesia are keeping their fingers crossed that Taufic will make a speedy recovery in the finals. Without Taufic, there is a possibility that Indonesia could crash out early in the finals.

Malaysia are expected to cross paths with either Indonesia or South Korea in the quarter-finals. Malaysia are taking no chances and are preparing their players in a centralized camp away from any distraction.

It will be wonderful if Badminton England can come up with a similar or better incentive to motivate our players.
